Wild Pine Camp was built by Josip and Maja Jurišić over two years with family and friends. They'd spent years in the city — Zagreb, then London — and came back to Croatia with one ambition: to create the outdoor retreat they'd always wanted to find but never could.
We cleared no more trees than necessary, sourced everything locally where possible and kept the camp deliberately small — 12 pitches maximum so that silence is guaranteed. No pool, no bar, no entertainment programme. Just forest, fire and the kind of rest that screens can't provide.

We came for two nights and stayed four. The safari tent is spectacular, Josip and Maja are the most thoughtful hosts we've encountered anywhere, and the forest is genuinely magical at night. Completely restorative.
